Safety/Warning Label Creation Process

 

1.      Product Safety Labeling Review and Hazard Assessment – BU Designate, Manager of Product Design Compliance (Dave Werba), and Manager of Technical Publications (Bill Diesch). 

·        Assess hazards requiring warnings.

·        Define label needs.

·        Conduct study of all currently available labels.

·        Determine new label needs – worded, wordless, multi-lingual.

 

2.      Develop new label concept – BU Designate, Manager of Product Design Compliance (Dave Werba), and Manager of Technical Publications (Bill Diesch).

 

3.      Create new label artwork with label designer – BU Designate, Manager of Product Design Compliance (Dave Werba), and Manager of Technical Publications (Bill Diesch).

 

4.      Approval of label artwork – BU Designate, Manager of Product Design Compliance (Dave Werba), and/or Manager of Technical Publications (Bill Diesch). 

·        Artwork released for production

 

5.      Internal - Technical Publications (Rick Duba) sets up label for production. BU places order for labels with Electrical Components BU. 

External – Artwork forwarded to vendor (Empire, Serigraph etc.) for label creation. BU places order for labels with vendor.
